| I have worked in the fitness industry for over 20 years. Presently, I am an adjunct professor in the Physical Education department at Metropolitan State College and I am an instructor at NPTI (National Personal Training Institute), both located in Denver. In addition, I have my own personal fitness training business called F.I.T.W.I.S.E. | |

Throughout my collegiate teaching career in physical education, I taught exercise physiology, basic anatomy for personal trainers, kinesiology, nutrition, fundamentals of physical fitness, techniques of teaching group exercise (aerobics--step and high/low, Pilate's, body toning) and weight training, racquetball, tennis and volleyball. I operated a fitness assessment lab conducting sub-maximal stress tests, strength and endurance tests, and body fat analysis. I am a master trainer for FiTour and I conduct workshops in personal training, Pilate's, and group exercise. On the entrepreneurial side, I owned and operated two fitness centers. I have worn every hat in the fitness center environment: Personal trainer, instructor trainer, developed and implemented all fitness programs, did all the bookkeeping, sales and marketing, and worked daily as a merry maid! |
| With all of the above and because I have worked with people of all ages, sizes, physical abilities and fitness levels, I bring much practical knowledge and wisdom to my clients and workshops. I live a healthy lifestyle every day, but I am not a fanatic and I don’t deprive myself of foods that I love, like ice cream, fettuccini Alfredo and a good glass of wine. There are times when being a couch potato is very appropriate and I will watch movies all weekend…after I go for a run with my dogs, that is! | |
